Overview
Scroll is a free Bible reading app designed to get out of your way and let you focus on the text. We believe your reading life is your own. We don't track you, we don't show you ads, and we don't sell your data. This policy explains exactly what happens with your information when you use the app.
Data Stored on Your Device
Everything you do in Scroll stays on your device. The full Bible text (World English Bible translation) is bundled with the app and stored locally. Your reading position, highlights, bookmarks, and notes are all saved to a local database on your device — never uploaded to our servers.
There are no user accounts or sign-in flows. We don't have a server that stores your personal data, because we don't collect any.
AI Study Features
Scroll includes optional AI-powered study tools. When you explicitly trigger a study action, the relevant verse text is sent to OpenAI's API for processing. This only happens when you choose to use the feature — it never runs in the background or without your knowledge.
The data sent to OpenAI is limited to the verse text needed to generate a response.
Third-Party Services
The only third-party service Scroll communicates with is OpenAI, and only when you use the AI study features. No data is shared with any other third party for any reason.
Analytics
Scroll does not include any analytics or tracking tools. We don't collect usage data, crash reports, or device information.
Children's Privacy
Scroll does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. The app contains no account creation, no tracking, and no data collection mechanisms.
Changes to This Policy
If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. We're committed to keeping things simple and transparent.
